137 Venezuelans of the binational health agreement return from Cuba

Through a humanitarian flight established amid the cessation of international transport imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, 137 Venezuelan patients and companions benefited by the Cuba-Venezuela Health Agreement returned to their homeland from Havana. Before leaving, the travelers thanked the Bolivarian Government and the Embassy of Venezuela in Cuba for the accompaniment they had during their stay on the island. Jesús Rincón, a patient benefited by the collaboration agreement, thanked President Nicolás Maduro and Ambassador Adán Chávez for the attention received, as well as for the humanitarian flight that took him back to his country. “We got all the treatment we came for”, he acknowledged. For her part, Nelly García, a citizen of the Cojedes state, who had traveled to Cuba to rehabilitate herself with her son, thanked the Cuban and Venezuelan authorities for the therapies they offer to those in need in their country and for continuing to provide free, quality health. “I want to congratulate President Nicolás Maduro for this beautiful process that he has with the sister Republic of Cuba”, said José Sánchez, a resident of the Carabobo state. He also thanked all the medical staff for the care he received. Omaira Colmenares, companion of a patient benefited by the Convention, expressed her gratitude to Cuba, the Bolivarian Revolution and President Maduro, for following with love and commitment the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez. Meanwhile, José Salvador Bello, who recovered vision in Havana thanked that this flight could be carried out at these times when the Covid-19 pandemic hinders international transportation. “The sacrifice that our nation made to bring us here, no other country does”, said Edgar Naranjo, who, after attending the “Camilo Cienfuegos” Ophthalmology Clinic in Havana, returned with his family to share his experiences on the fruitful cooperation between the two brother peoples.
