Bolivarian Government thanks the cooperation of the International Red Cross in the face of the challenge that Covid-19 represents
On behalf of the National Executive, the Executive Vice-president, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the International Federation of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, with the purpose of coordinating and articulating joint actions in the fight against the pandemic of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
This meeting was held within the framework of the arrival of more than 45 tons of supplies and medical equipment that have been channeled through the International Red Cross, in order to keep working together to strengthen the measures adopted by President Nicolás Maduro who guarantee the health of the Venezuelan people.
This shipment will be divided into two parts; the first to the health institutions registered with the International Red Cross and the other half to the National Public Health System.
It should be noted that this meeting had the participation of the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, the Vice-minister for Multilateral Issues, Alexander Yánez and the People’s Power Minister for Health, Carlos Alvarado, while on behalf of the Red Cross Federation, the head of the Office of the international health organization in the country, doctor. Michele Detomaso; and Doctor José Bonvicini, member of the Board of Directors of the Venezuelan Red Cross participated.
These actions seek to strengthen cooperation based on international law and solidarity with the countries of the world, which are currently affected by the presence of this infection, in addition to keep working tirelessly alongside international organizations to keep flat the spread curve of the Covid-19 in Venezuela.
