President Maduro: United States threatens the region’s public health

The United States (USA) has become the country most affected by Covid-19 after confirming 83,116 cases and 1,197 deaths. Previously the USA it was in third place in terms of spread of the virus, after China (81,782 cases) and Italy (80,539). “The prognosis of the World Health Organization was verified, the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic has turned to the United States and this is very dangerous for all Americans, for the entire region. The United States becomes a threat to public health in Latin America and the Caribbean”, said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, referring to the issue. The Venezuelan Head of State stood in solidarity with the American people who today suffer the spread of the terrible virus. “We hope that sooner than later they achieve the formula to control this pandemic that has exploded and is out of control in the United States”. Along these lines, he warned of the progress of the virus on a global scale, the cases registered to date amount to 528 thousand 704, while the deaths are located at 23 thousand 958 and the recovered 123 thousand 364. In Venezuela, 107 positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected to date, of which 31 have recovered and one has died.
