MP appoints two prosecutors to investigate the alleged crime of attempted coup against President Maduro

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported on Thursday that the Public Ministry appointed Prosecutors 22 and 30 with national jurisdiction as part of the investigation initiated against Juan Guaidó, Clíver Alcalá Cordones and other collaborators for the convict and confessed crime of attempted coup against President Nicolás Maduro. In the first of five messages published on his account on the social network Twitter, he stated: “#URGENTE informed public opinion that @MinpublicoVE has opened an investigation against Guaidó, Clíver Alcalá and other collaborators: for the convicted and confessed crime of attempted COUP against the President @NicolasMaduro”. The investigation marked with the file MP-69482-2020 seeks to investigate the facts recognized by Clíver Alcalá Cordones, who publicly revealed that together with Guaidó and North American advisers they intended to bathe Venezuela in blood. The Attorney General assured by a series of five trills on the social network that this attempted coup d’état had been planned in the Republic of Colombia, with the support of US advisers and with money stolen from the Venezuelan State, according to the words of Alcalá Cordones himself released this Thursday in Colombia. He rejected that as part of this subversive plan, Alcalá, with the shelter offered by the Colombian authorities, would have organized at least three camps in towns in the neighboring country to train assault groups against Venezuela. He also recalled that this plan was frustrated when a shipment of weapons seized in March 23, valued at $ 500,000, was destined to enter Venezuela illegally through the Zulia state, in order to be used in targeted killings and terrorist acts.
