Venezuela receives 4,000 COVID-19 test kits from China
A shipment of 4,000 COVID-19 early diagnosis test kits and other medical supplies arrived on Thursday from the People’s Republic of China.
“We are receiving 4,000 test kits and other necessary medicines and reagents. Likewise, we are receiving biosecurity suits, protective goggles, gloves, and air purifiers for our healthcare centers,” explained the Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez at the Simón Bolívar International Airport.
Rodríguez thanked the people of China and their President Xi Jinping “for their generosity, for this new gesture of affection, friendship and cooperation between our countries.”
“While we see isolated voices in the world that reflect their misery and that try to turn this global pandemic into a discriminatory, selective and criminal political agenda against the Venezuelan people, we also see gestures like this that represent the spirit with which humankind should be impregnated,” she asserted.
Also, the Venezuelan vice president informed that the Presidential Commission for the Prevention and Control of Coronavirus (COVID-19) will hold on Monday a video call with Chinese experts.
She stressed that President Nicolás Maduro requested the assistance of “specialists to address this virus, which is spreading in a way humankind did not know. China is already winning this fight.”
