Intergovernmental Commission of the Cuba-Venezuela Agreement evaluates development plans and economic strengthening for this 2020

This Tuesday, the meeting with the executing entities of the projects established through the Intergovernmental Commission of the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement (Cicic) Cuba-Venezuela, was held at the headquarters of the People’s Power Ministry for Economy and Finance, with the purpose of evaluate the progress and goals established for this year 2020. The working meeting was chaired by Minister Simón Zerpa, accompanied by the Vice-minister for Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment; the Technical Secretary of Cicic, Roberto López and Vice-minister of Economic Articulation, the Technical Secretary of Cicic, Eduardo Ramírez; along with the members of both delegations that included the main entities with competence in the topics to be discussed. The head of the Economy and Finance portfolio congratulated the will shown by the teams participating in this bilateral meeting, given that, based on the fulfillment of previously established agreements, an important economic strength is formed to guarantee welfare and social stability of the peoples of both nations, as has been the intention of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and President Miguel Díaz Canel, both defenders of the legacy of Fidel and Chávez. The work agenda began with the review of the projects contemplated through the commercial links in health, basic education and higher education, electrical system, sports, culture, agricultural production and transportation. The great variant is sustained by the promotion of new alternatives through the use of innovative strategies that promote commercial cooperation between public and private entities, through the different business rounds that have been running with important sectors such as forign trade and tourism, on which it is planned to hold a new working day in Venezuela for this first semester. Within the commitments, future evaluation and progress meetings were established on each of the programs and projects discussed during the conference, with the aim of speeding them up to a successful conclusion and continuing to implement the cooperation agendas instructed by both leaders.
