Kilusan of the Philippines deplores continuing acts of interference by the United States in Venezuela

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Philippines received a statement sent by Kilusan sa Pambansang Demokrasya (Kilusan), a democratic and anti-imperialist movement, in which it states that the toughest US measures presented this month against Venezuela, as part of a Systematic campaign that seeks to overthrow President Maduro and its Bolivarian government will surely bring dire consequences for the Venezuelan people. In this regard, this movement said they deplore the continuing interference acts of the United States government in Venezuela, which undermine its sovereignty and violate the people’s rights to health, food and development. In this way, Kilusan transmitted that, despite repeated failures and scandals of Deputy Juan Guaidó, President Donald Trump made a great show by presenting him during his speech on the State of the Union on February 4. He wanted to warn the world that Washington is obsessed with its government change campaign in Venezuela. Also, Kilusan states in the letter the following: “The opening for the year is the measure, announced on February 7, against the state airline Conviasa and 40 of its planes. This action will not only affect regular air transport, but it will seriously harm the provision of services by the government, among which are the transportation of patients for their Mision Milagro eye surgery program and the Plan Vuelta a la Patria, which returns the Venezuelan migrants in desperate situations in the receiving countries”.

The statement of the Asian movement points out that the last coercive measure against Rosneft of Russia aims to completely dry the income of Venezuela. They say that the United States expects Rosneft not only to stop doing oil business with the South American country, but also expects other entities that do business with Rosneft to stay away from the Russian oil company. The statement ends by alerting that clearly, the United States wants to starve and stop the development of the Venezuelan people, preventing, through unilateral coercive measures, the Bolivarian Government from providing free education, free hospitalization and housing to the people. “This is what Trump meant by his union with the Venezuelan people in the fight for freedom. Washington is bleeding it until the people become too hungry and weak to assert their right to their own resources and future”, says the missive.
