Venezuela participates for the first time in the International Carnival of Young People in Venice
The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Italian Republic participates, for the first time, in the XI Edition of the International Carnival of Young People of the Venice Biennale, which is held from February 15 to 23, 2020.
In this area, the South American nation has presented a musical workshop entitled “Il Violino colorato”, by the Venezuelan master Karen Velázquez, , violinist and director of the Venezuelan Children’s Orchestras System. This project was born from the idea of deepening musical education in the first years of children’s lives, through the adaptation to the Italian cultural reality of the model developed by the Venezuelan Musical System of Orchestras and Choirs.
The laboratory, designed by Velázquez, has developed a new teaching method that combines Italian cultural and musical richness with Venezuelan music and aims to sensitize young generations to art in all of its forms.
Numerous elementary school children from various parts of Italy have participated in this cultural initiative, who approached the knowledge of different musical instruments and directly experienced the structure of a choir and an orchestra.
The International Carnival for Young People of the Venice Biennale is an educational project that, since 2010, has been aimed at girls and boys in primary schools, teachers and families, with the aim of promoting artistic activities and, at the same time, bring young people to different cultural activities.
