Venezuela obtains the presidency of the working group of the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture

The permanent representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Héctor Constant Rosales, was elected Wednesday as chairman of the Tripartite Open Working Group of the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (FIPC) of Unesco, which constitutes a space for debate and consultation for the revitalization of the Fund and the modification of its statutes and rules of procedure.

Created in 1974, the FIPC aims to promote cultures as sources of knowledge, values, meaning and identity; promote the role of culture for sustainable development; promote artistic creativity in all its forms, in respect and freedom of speech; and support the production and organization of cultural and artistic events, favoring cultural cooperation at the national, regional and / or international level.

This victory reaffirms Venezuela’s commitment to the culture of the South and further consolidates its cultural diplomacy.
