Venezuela will strengthen air connectivity with Europe and Asia
The People’s Power Minister for Tourism and Foreign Trade (Mitcoex), Felix Plasencia, said that from this year on, Venezuela will strengthen air connectivity with European and Asian countries, thanks to strategic alliances with tourism, hotel and airline companies in Spain.
This was announced during an interview with the National Radio of Spain, at the International Tourism Fair (FiTur) 2020, which is held in the city of Madrid, considered leader for the conquest of the receptive and emitting markets of Latin America.
Plasencia explained that thanks to the policies issued by the government of President Nicolás Maduro, the geopolitical vision has been strengthened from the portfolio for Tourism and Foreign Trade, which is why new air routes have been created between Venezuela and Spain. “Now we are building four airlines that fly from Madrid to Caracas, seeking greater growth”, he said.
Turkish Airlines in constant growth towards Venezuela
The Minister said that Venezuela will be present at the Istanbul International Fair (Turkey), next February, another opportunity to attract tourism growth from the Asian continent. He said that more connections will be built through the Turkish Airlines airline, which currently makes flights to Venezuela.
“We hope that this line allows us to increase tourism from Asia”. He explained that India and China are nations of population and economic growth with which the South American nation maintains close bilateral relations.
Plasencia stressed that negotiations on tourism have been reached, despite the economic and commercial blockade imposed by the United States government. He stressed that the case of the Avianca airline of Colombia and other American lines have ceased to receive significant capital by suspending their flights to Venezuela.
However, he said that Venezuela will remain in search of other strategic markets, considering that this Caribbean nation has excellent tourist and commercial attractions.
