Spanish tour operators continue to show interest in Venezuela

“We are at the International Tourism Fair of Spain (FiTur) determined to remember the benefits of our country and tell the world that they can come to Venezuela. We are supporting national tourism, more than 10 million Venezuelans do domestic tourism”, said the People’s Power Minister for Tourism and Foreign Trade, Felix Plasencia, in an interview offered to international media. In this meeting, the Minister stressed that President Nicolás Maduro is committed to the promotion of the Tourism Engine, as a revitalizer of the Venezuelan economy. He explained that the national participation in this important showcase in Madrid, allows the interrelation with foreign investors who have expressed their interest in the destination Venezuela. Plasencia reported that he has held meetings with representatives of Globalia, Melia and Plus Ultra. He also assured that any intention achieved with these consortiums will have an impact on the growth of receptive tourism between the two nations. “Our interest is to attract European and rest of the world tourists and encourage investment”, he said. He said he was convinced of the receptivity of the highest authorities and professionals in this sector, of the benefits and opportunities offered by Venezuela as a multi-destination country. In addition, he commented that in the context of his visit to Spain to participate in the FiTur 2020, he was received by King Felipe VI in the Cibeles palace.
