Representatives of national institutions and agencies of the United Nations System accredited in Venezuela, held on Thursday a meeting on the evaluation of the 2019 management in the Humanitarian Response Plan that is developed in the country with the cooperation of the UN and they also established the perspectives for this year 2020.
Alexander Yánez, Vice-minister for Multilateral Issues of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, explained that the UN cooperation in terms of the Plan is distributed by sectors or clusters, of which six were defined in Venezuela: Education; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Health; Food Safety; Nutrition and Protection.
In this regard, he explained that in each cluster one or more agencies of the United Nations Organization and one or several Venezuelan institutions, depending on their area of competence, participate in a coordinated work.

In the meeting, “the perspectives of the Plan for 2020 were seen and from now on, we will hold meetings by cluster in order to coordinate the priorities that the Venezuelan State has in specific matters and with the support of the United Nations we are going to meet those needs”, the diplomat said.
Since last year, the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, in coordination with the United Nations System, has been developing this Humanitarian Response Plan to combat the criminal effects of unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government on the Venezuelan population.
