At the end of the meeting, Vice-minister Yánez said they discussed the performance of these agencies in the nation, their achievements and challenges, and assessed the outlook for this year, within the framework of the United Nations development projects in Venezuela and of humanitarian cooperation.
“We have extended the gratitude from Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza for the work you have been doing and we have established new lines of coordination and cooperation to increase the effectiveness of the work during this year 2020”, he said.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela and the agencies of the United Nations Organization with presence in the country, have been developing since 2019 a humanitarian response plan to combat the devastating effects of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government against the Venezuelan people, in prioritized areas such as health, education, food, science and technology.
