Human Rights Workshop analyzes recommendations established by Acnudh
In order to strengthen the capacities of institutional development in the country as a sign of the permanent will of the work that is carried out to comply with the recommendations made by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (Acnudh), this Monday at the facilities of the Gran Meliá hotel in Caracas, the First Workshop on the implementation of Follow-up Mechanisms and Recommendations of Treaty Bodies started.
This activity was based on the ‘Letter of Understanding’ which was signed by the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, with the high commissioner of Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, in September of this year, and establishes the creation of a Work Plan that achieves the increase of technical-institutional capacities for the promotion, protection and attention of human rights.
In this context, the general secretary of the National Human Rights Council of Venezuela, Larry Devoe, said that this fruitful meeting aims to base strategies that allow progress in the construction of a route for the consolidation of collective mechanisms that Comply with established recommendations.
On the other hand, in the creation of working groups, representatives of various institutions discussed the current situation of the agencies in the country, and the need to analyze and monitor the improvement of state capacities through a permanent effort to ensure the political empowerment
It should be noted that during the next few days, the Workshop will continue to be carried out in order to define proposals based on the promotion of collaboration, coordination, consultation and information that consolidate the Work Plan for the extension of human rights plans.
