Venezuela urges the UN to speak in defense of Cuban medical mission in Bolivia

“From Venezuela we protest the repression of the fascists against doctors – from Cuba – they are cowards who direct that repression. The people of Bolivia must go out to defend their doctors. You have to be a coward to chase a doctor who gives health and love to the people!” The words correspond to the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, who strongly rejected the persecution of the Cuban medical mission in the Plurinational State of Bolivia, after completing the coup d’etat that deposed the power of the legitimate president of that Nation, Evo Morales. The president, Nicolás Maduro, denounced that imperial forces are behind what happens in Bolivia and assured that there are photographic records in which it is evidenced that vehicles from the United States embassy in Bolivia are involved in the raids and assaults on medical offices, where Cuban doctors attend for free. Along these lines, he called on the United Nations (UN) system to speak about it and raise its voice to guarantee the protection of doctors of Cuban origin who provide social service in Bolivia. The declaration was offered by the Venezuelan president during a work day to strengthen the public health system in the country, held in the Ayacucho Hall of the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.
