Iran willing to cooperate scientifically and technologically with Venezuela

The Vice-president for Science and Technology, Sorena Satari, expressed Iran’s willingness to send medical, laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment to Venezuela, adding that: “Our scientific products have a much lower cost and their quality is equivalent to that of Western products”. “We also have excellent technologies in the areas of health or water that we can share”, said Satari during a meeting with the Minister of Science and Technology of Venezuela, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez. Iran occupies the first place at the regional level in scientific fields, in areas such as nanotechnology, aerospace technology and biotechnology, she said, adding that there are around 5,000 scientifically based companies that work to promote the economy, and whose commercial participation increases every year . For his part, Jiménez Ramírez said: “Despite the sanctions and pressures, Iran has made great progress and numerous successes, including medical production”. And expressing the desire of his country to collaborate in scientific and technological fields, Jiménez Ramírez said: “Cooperation in various areas, such as education in nanotechnology, biotechnology and engineering, design, technology transfer and other shared services could be a good incentive for both countries”. Satari and Jiménez Ramírez signed a memorandum of understanding on “Scientific and technological cooperation”. The exchange of scientists and researchers to develop experiences and education, conducting joint training courses, holding specialized conferences and workshops, or conducting joint exhibitions on innovation and technology are the most important axes of the agreement.
