Venezuela and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea celebrate 45 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations

Through a conversation, a choral presentation, and an exhibition of woven images, at the headquarters of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, in Caracas, the governments of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, celebrated this Monday the 45th anniversary of the establishment of its diplomatic relations. In this regard, Ri Sung Gil, ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Venezuela, gave a brief overview of the history of his country’s revolutionary movement and its historical leader, Kim Il-sung, who guided the Asian nation to maintain firmly the ideology and the socialist principle; it gave relevance to the moral and ethical aspects of politics, and consolidated the popular bases as a revolutionary force that relied on their inexhaustible force to boost the socialist cause. He also prepared this State with a solid contingent and military equipment. He stressed that both countries have achieved successive victories before the US empire and mentioned that all attempts to overthrow the revolutionary government in Venezuela, through parliamentary coup d’etat, assassination attempts, unilateral coercive measures, “were frustrated and failed. The Venezuelan people have always emerged victorious with the military civic union, with the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace and the support of their Armed Forces, and will also be victorious in the future”, he predicted. Ambassador Ri Sung Gil also said that the ties of friendship and cooperation between Venezuela and his country are excellent, detailing that in 2014 the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was inaugurated in Caracas; the president of the Supreme Popular Assembly and the Chancellor of his nation have visited Venezuela; last year, a delegation headed by Professor Adam Chavez visited the capital Pionyang and this year the Venezuelan embassy was opened in that city, and there was also a delegation from the National Constituent Assembly, led by its president Diosdado Cabello in the Asian country. On behalf of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Robert Noriega, director of the Office of the Vice-minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, extended to the visiting diplomatic representation the greeting from Minister Jorge Arreaza and indicated that the national embassy, ​​opened on August 21 of this year in Pionyang, “serves as leverage so that the relationship between the two countries goes to levels of greater prosperity for our peoples”. At the close of the celebration, the Casa Amarilla Coral, made up of workers from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, delighted those present with four musical performances of the national and Latin American repertoire.
