Venezuela urges the international community to address violence in Colombia with rigor and urgency
The international community must urgently and rigorously address the “dramatic” situation of violence in the Republic of Colombia, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, suggested on Friday.
The Venezuelan diplomat referred specifically to the continued murder of social and political leaders in the New Granada nation, and referred to the murder of Marlon Ferney Pacho, secretary of the council of the Talaga shelter, in the Colombian department of Cauca.

The Cauca Indigenous Regional Council (CRIC) denounced this Thursday the murder of the 26 years old official Marlon Ferney Pacho, and urged the Government and local and regional institutions to act immediately and “put aside the protocols” in order to defend the life of its inhabitants.
“The Indigenous communities of the municipality of Páez-Tierradentro will continue to join forces to defend the life and territory of each one of us who live in this region of the department. And say that neither our territory nor our peoples are instruments for the social conflict that occurs in the Colombian context”, highlighted the organization.
