Minister of National Security and Communications of Trinidad and Tobago arrives in Venezuela
On an official visit, the Minister of National Security and Communications of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Stuart Richard Young, arrived in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on Thursday.
The Trinidadian Minister was received with his entourage, among which was the Commander of the Coast Guard Douglas Archer, at the Maiquetía International Airport “Simón Bolívar” by a delegation from the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations.
Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago ratified in 2018 their willingness to strengthen bilateral relations, with the signing of energy agreements during a meeting held in Caracas by President Nicolás Maduro and Prime Minister Keith Rowley.
On that occasion, the dignitaries signed a joint declaration for the execution of the Dragon Field Interconnection project, located north of the coast of the Sucre state, with the Hibiscus platform, in the territory of the Caribbean nation.
The Minister of National Security and Communications of the island was designated as the official responsible for promoting the Dragon project from his government.
In March 2017, the signing of the Gas Supply Framework Agreement with Trinidad and Tobago was carried out in Caracas, which contemplated the constitution of the working committees between PDVSA and the state-run Trinidadian National Group Gas, to determine the supply mechanisms for gas from the Dragon Field, located north of the Sucre state, about 40 kilometers from the Paria Peninsula.
