President Maduro applauds partial agreements reached between the opposition and the Bolivarian Government
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, applauded the series of partial agreements signed by representatives of the opposition and the Bolivarian Government on Monday, to advance the political, economic and social agenda of the country.
In this regard, he instructed the Vice-president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, to act in correspondence with the proposals emanating from the national dialogue, specifically at the point that proposes the implementation of the oil exchange program for food, medicine and supplies for basic services accordingly with the existing technical mechanisms in the United Nations System.
The President also informed that the Truth Commission, chaired by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tareck William Saab, will be responsible for executing point three of the agreement, which calls upon the Justice System, to arrange measures for the replacement of deprivation of liberty in those cases in which the Venezuelan legal system permits so.
On the other hand, in order to deepen and defend the institutional political dialogue, the parliamentary fraction of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the allied factions will be incorporated into the National Assembly (AN).
Regarding the promptly and urgently attention of the need to form a new National Electoral Council (CNE) with electoral guarantees to accompany the voting processes, the Head of State stressed that the revolutionary forces “have always state open to the strengthening of the Electoral Power and to fortify the guarantees so that the elections to come are of broad political, partisan and popular participation”.
In addition, Maduro celebrated that in a national union “we reaffirm and defend the historical legitimate rights of Venezuela over Guyana Esequiba, through political negotiation as contemplated in the Geneva Agreement of 1966, the only legal instrument valid in the United Nations Agreements”, while applauding the joint rejection of the application of economic sanctions to the country, in violation of international law and the demand for their immediate lifting.
In reading the historic agreement, President Nicolás Maduro expressed his approval for the signed document and reaffirmed his commitment “to dialogue, agreements and peace”.
“All doors are open, everyone who wants to join this national dialogue table to bring new ideas and proposals, is welcome. The starting point is to accept our differences and seek peace”, he concluded.
