The 16th Meeting of the Joint Monitoring Ministerial Committee of OPEC and non-OPEC countries ends successfully
The People’s Power Minister for Petroleum and president of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), Manuel Quevedo, described the 16th Meeting of the OPEC + Joint Monitoring Ministerial Committee as a day of commitment, monitoring and cooperation between nations.
“The result we are seeing today are positive messages in the world oil market”, said the head of the Venezuelan hydrocarbons portfolio.
The President of the OPEC Conference also welcomed the progress of this Ministerial Monitoring Committee by informing that the signatory members of the Declaration of Cooperation have committed themselves to 100% fulfill the commitments acquired.
During the meeting, the new Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Bin Salman, who will assume the Presidency of this Monitoring Committee was welcomed.
“These meetings represent the reaffirmation of the commitment of OPEC and Non-OPEC countries to continue joint action, for the benefit of both producers and consumers of crude oil”.
He also recalled that the Declaration of Cooperation is promoted by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who constantly reviews the monitoring of the measures taken within the Organization to maintain the stability of the world oil market.
In defense of the Homeland
Minister Manuel Quevedo also informed that from the Joint Monitoring Ministerial Committee the fundamentals of the market are monitored, while all geopolitical events are evaluated.
He indicated that from this instance the removal of the United States security adviser, John Bolton, was observed and analyzed, “since these decisions always have an impact on the oil countries”, he said.
He also emphasized that from Venezuela, work will continue to recover the oil market with the PDVSA industry in charge.
“We are requesting that unilateral and unfair sanctions and measures against our People and against PDVSA be lifted. From Venezuela we are very sure that this year we will find solutions within the framework of dialogue and cooperation”, said Minister Quevedo.
