Communist Party of Spain condemns political use of Embassy in Venezuela by Guaidó and Leopoldo López

The Communist Party of Spain ruled on Thursday in rejection of the announcement of the creation of a “Government Center” at the Spanish Embassy in Venezuela by Deputy Juan Guaidó, which will be in charge of Leopoldo López as Presidential Commissioner, a figure that does not exist in the Bolivarian Constitution of Venezuela. Expresses that with this type of movement, the “self-proclaimed Acting President” demonstrates the desperation that exists in the Venezuelan coup opposition and in the Trump Administration, who do not give up their interference efforts against the legitimate Government and President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Mature Moros. In addition, they note that the seriousness of the appointment of Leopoldo López is that he is a fugitive criminal of Venezuelan justice and housed in the Residence of the Spanish Ambassador to Venezuela. In this way, “López would be carrying out political actions against a legitimate Government at the headquarters of another State, which would make the Spanish State and the Government in charge of Pedro Sánchez collaborators in the criminal acts of a politician convicted of Venezuelan justice for encouraging the murder of Chavistas militants and supporters, through the formation of guarimbas”. For all this, the Communist Party of Spain condemns the use of the Spanish Embassy in Venezuela by Guaidó and López to execute coup actions against President Nicolás Maduro and the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, and demands the acting Spanish Government and the president Pedro Sánchez to leave the servile attitude towards the Venezuelan coup plotters and towards the US administration of Donald Trump; respect the sovereignty of Venezuela, do not allow the carrying out of political activities of criminals within the Embassy and give Leopoldo López immediately to the Venezuelan authorities.
