The Vice-president of Planning and Development stressed that in the face of the aggressions that the Caribbean nation receives in different areas of national development, the Bolivarian Government will redouble its efforts to guarantee the protection of the entire Venezuelan population and to complete the Plan de la Patria 2019-2025 and the objectives of the 2030 Agenda. The Vice-president said that the humanitarian issue is the product of imperialism – which has generated great humanitarian and environmental tragedies – in this sense stressed the need for Latin American countries to disassociate themselves from the colonial model and to undertake their own sustainable and productive economic models. “There is an extremely serious affectation, some countries talk about the humanitarian issue in Venezuela and don’t talk about what the financial blockade means. Venezuela has resources abroad, sufficient to guarantee all the provision of food and medicine, but there is a kind of complicity that seeks an asphyxiation from an economic point of view (…) the people are the strategy, if there are inequalities from the point of economic view, there will also exist from the territorial”.Encuentro latinoamericano de planificación. Diplomatic alliances
Regarding the role of diplomatic alliances, he stressed that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela proposes the defense of international law and contemplates the construction of authentic value chains, alliances from the territorial point of view, the vision of the southern banks, and the creation of financial mechanisms. The XVI Conference of Ministers and Chiefs of Planning of Latin America and the Caribbean is an important space for deliberation that allows evaluating the progress and challenges of development planning in Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting discusses the need to strengthen the capacities and resilience of peoples to natural hazards, the interest of building an ecosystem of territorial development policies and the reduction of territorial inequalities. The day ended with an act of solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and in rejection to the unilateral coercive measures applied by the Donald Trump Administration against the Venezuelan people.Encuentro de solidaridad contra el bloqueo a Venezuela, en Uruguay, Montevideo.
