Venezuela and Turkey promote bilateral and technical cooperation on food security

As part of his visit to the Republic of Turkey, the Vice-minister for Europe of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, held a fruitful meeting this Friday with the Vice-minister of Agriculture of the Eurasian nation, Faith Metin.

The high-level meeting was conducive for the parties to give renewed momentum to bilateral and technical cooperation in the field of food sovereignty and security.

Caracas and Ankara have expanded and deepened in recent years the joint cooperation agenda, under which a series of agreements in different areas have been signed.

After his meeting with the Turkish Vice-minister of Agriculture, the Venezuelan diplomat held talks with Abdullah Eren, president of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

This meeting allowed to evaluate the cooperation programs of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships and the possibilities of exchange in public management experiences.

Vice-minister Gil was received Thursday by Turkey’s Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Sedat Önal, at a meeting where both diplomats reaffirmed the mutual support of the two nations.
