Foreign Minister Arreaza: After failed coup, immigration issue is resumed to attack Venezuela

This Sunday, the Foreign Minsiter of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, denounced that after the failed coup d’état perpetrated by the Venezuelan opposition with guidelines from the US government, the perpetrators of the crime now intend to reposition the issue of migration in the media to attack Venezuela.

“The defeat and despair leads them to recycle issues, rebuilding the obsessive aggression against the country”, he wrote through his Twitter account @jaarreaza.

In this regard, he highlighted the role of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which lends itself to strenghthen the opinion matrix by using alleged figures of the migration of Venezuelans, in order to request resources whose destiny is not Clear.

Foreign Minister Arreaza considered contradictory that (UNHCR) express concern for Venezuelans from the Colombian department of La Guajira, “territory drowned by extreme poverty and abandoned by the Colombian state, where thousands of children have died from malnutrition”.

The complaint is made after the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), affirmed that during the last 41 months the exorbitant amount of four million Venezuelans has entered Colombian territory.

The National Government has denounced on several occasions that Venezuelan migration is used as an instrument of media manipulation.

It should be noted that Venezuela has sent more than 70 diplomatic notes to the governments of Peru, Colombia and Ecuador to report the real numbers of Venezuelan arrivals to their territories, without success.
