Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza: It is a record that Colombian politicians have not mentioned Venezuela in 48 hours
For the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, the fact that Colombia has not mentioned Venezuela in its speech in the last 48 hours is a record because, in his opinion, the government of Ivan Duque is hiding in the Venezuela situation to distract international public opinion from the problems that afflict its country.
In an interview with the Telesur channel, the Venezuelan diplomat said that the Colombian government uses Venezuela as a pretext to distort their internal situation of war and murder of social leaders, as well as the trafficking of illicit substances that occur daily in Colombian territory.
“I do not know if it is the first time since August 7, when President Duque took office, Colombian politicians, its chancellor and government do not mention the word Venezuela within 48 hours. Stop using Venezuela as a joker to distract public opinion, they have not mentioned us in 48 hours they have set a record”, said the Foreign Minister.
He added that the government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros will maintain his willingness to dialogue with Colombia, despite the fact that all diplomatic instances have been exhausted to establish a necessary conversation for both nations.
“We have things to work together but they do not dialogue, they bet on the coup d’état from there, the assassination against President Nicolás Maduro was organized last August”, he said.
Finally, the Venezuelan FM lamented and assured that the war in Colombia, which prompted the exodus of more than 5 million Colombians to Venezuela and that had ceased during the government of former President Juan Manuel Santos, seems to rebound after the rise to power of Iván Duque affecting not only Colombia but the region.
