Foreign Minister Arreaza from Moscow: Government of the USA has decided to drown the Venezuelan economy
The control of the natural resources of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is the underlying objective of the hostile policy adopted by the United States government against the Latin American country, reiterated on Monday the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza.
During a press conference at the Venezuelan Embassy in Moscow, the diplomat denounced the resurgence of illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed on Venezuela from the White House.
“As they have not been able through the coup d’état, or assassination, to facilitate the policy of regime change by force they have decided to drown the Venezuelan economy”, warned the foreign minister and emphasized that the United States lacks moral or legal authority to apply sanctions to other nations.
The Minister of Foreign Relations maintains that the unilateral economic blockade of Venezuela has its maximum expression in the international financial system, which makes it difficult for the State to import basic goods to fill the needs of the population, including food, medicines and medical supplies.
“What they have generated is suffering among the Venezuelan people (…) It is criminal what the government of the United States is doing and we are going to insist on diplomacy, dialogue, so that the Venezuelan economy is unblocked”, he added.
Minister Arreaza insisted on the situation of 26 Venezuelan patients who are in Italy under a PDVSA agreement with a foundation for bone marrow transplantation, whose lives are at risk as a result of the blockade of the country: the transaction for 4,851 .252 euros needed for their attention has been frustrated in the wake of the economic siege.
In his meeting with the media, the diplomat also made reference – to mention a few cases – to the $ 1,359 million from the Venezuelan State that has been withheld in the Bank of England and the € 1,543 million blocked in the Novo Banco de Portugal.
“Those are resources of the Venezuelan people, for their food, health, public services, housing, infrastructure”, he said.
Faced with this situation, he reported that on April 24 he began a campaign against the economic blockade of Venezuela at the United Nations.
The CIA and the coup d’état
Foreign Minister Arreaza also denounced the failed coup d’état that last April 30 was intended to be consummated in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, supported by the government of the United States.
“It was a CIA plan with the Venezuelan opposition to overthrow the government of President Maduro, to take control of the national wealth, a wealth controlled by a people in a socialist revolution, that is what they are trying to avoid”, he stressed.
However, he ratified the willingness of the National Executive to dialogue not only with the Donald Trump government but also with the Venezuelan opposition, emphasizing that the country’s institutions will not allow a change of government by force.
“It is the hour of dialogue, of diplomacy, enough of the madness, of the threat of the use of force”, he added.
