Foreign Minister Arreaza: The only threat to regional peace is the US military presence in Colombia

The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, described the position taken by the Colombian government as a little moral authority, after rejecting in a letter the declaration made by the Russian Federation on February 27, where they repudiated the American interference in the Homeland of Bolívar.

“What a way to spin false concepts and with what a little moral authority they do it. To affirm that they have adhered to the International Law and to the Venezuelan Constitution must be a @CarlosHolmesTru’s bad joke. Denying their constant aggressions against Venezuela, is a shame”, the FM posted on his Twitter account @jaarreaza.

Similarly, he said, “if there is any threat to regional peace, it is precisely the Colombian drug trafficking industry, the institutions it controls in Colombia, the conflicts it generates and the presence and military cooperation of Bogotá with the most warmongering and interventionist country in the world”.

The Russian parliament also condemned the events promoted by radical groups of the national and international right that occurred on February 23 and 24 when, across the Colombian-Venezuelan border, the US government, with the support of satellite governments such as Colombia and Brazil, tried to enter a “supposed humanitarian aid” to national territory by force.

The international pressure strategy implemented by the Venezuelan right wing and US imperialism that aimed to overthrow the legitimate government of President Nicolás Maduro was dismantled after extremist groups paid by the national opposition set fire to trucks transporting material that would be used to promote violence in the country.
