Foreign Minister Arreaza from Turkey: The US wants to impose a puppet in Venezuela to control its riches

In an important meeting of solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela that took place this Monday at the University of Ankara, Turkey, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, explained the underlying reason for the claims of the United States government to provoke a change of government in the Latin American country. “The United States, Trump, wants to impose a puppet government to take control of the riches of Venezuela without any constitutional support and without any support in international law”, said the Venezuelan Foreign Minister in reference to Washington’s decision to support and direct a coup plan in the figure of the oppositor Juan Guaidó, who on January 23 self-proclaimed “interim president” of the country. In the same discursive line, he projected the “effort” of Washington to overthrow mainly the government of the then President Hugo Chávez and now President Nicolás Maduro’s, in whose only efforts – he assures – those riches have been invested for the benefit of the Venezuelan people. “That is the reason of this great battle that we are taking at this moment”, he emphasized, adding that Venezuela is at the geopolitical epicenter of the world. Turkey: a strategic ally of Venezuela In his speech, Foreign Minister Arreaza thanked the Republic of Turkey for its support to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which has provided a framework for the expansion and deepening of bilateral relations. “We are grateful for the support of Turkey, its people, its president and its institutions, because this historic struggle between the United States Monroe Doctrine to seize America and the Bolivar Doctrine that people are free, is to be defined in the next years (…) and Turkey is supporting Venezuela in this process of liberation”, he added. Prior to this meeting, the diplomat along with his delegation offered before the bust of the hero Francisco de Miranda, precursor of the independence of Venezuela, and held meetings with the rector of the University of Ankara, Erkan Ibis, with the University Senate and the director from the Center for Latin American Studies, Neyiti Kutlu. Venezuela and Turkey recently gave renewed impetus to the binational alliance with the signing of a set of agreements in various areas, mainly in commercial matters.
