Foreign Minister Arreaza: If the People of Venezuela defeats this coup we guarantee independence for 200 years

The great challenge currently facing Venezuelans who defend national sovereignty is to eradicate the coup that has been attempted against President Nicolás Maduro, reflected the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza. In the program La Voz de Chávez, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión and conducted by the constitutional Adán Chávez, the diplomat once again pointed out the government of the United States as the architect of the coup plot set in motion in the South American country, taking into account the constant statements of the own president Donald Trump and his closest collaborators against Caracas, in which, even, they pretend to give orders to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb). “If the people of Venezuela finish defeating this coup attempt, here our Homeland will be guaranteeing its independence for at least 200 more years”, said the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations. He also reiterated that intentions to seize the natural resources of the oil nation lie behind the interventionist intentions of the United States in Venezuela. “If something (Hugo) Chávez taught to us, and there is no doubt about, is that as long as the US government, imperialism, opposes what we do, we are doing things correctly”, the foreign minister added, when referring to the anti-imperialist character of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution. In the same television space, the secretary of the Constitutional Commission of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Olga Álvarez, evoked the interventionist background of the United States in Latin America, which took place during the 20th century. “In that time, the United States, through its international system, designed different organizations to be able to standardize in Latin America legal systems that could sustain its hegemony throughout the continent, organisms that were in charge of designing spaces and programs to unify throughout the continent a situation that allowed them to dominate not through military interventions but through a more subtle war”, she said. After this analysis, the lawyer highlighted the tenacity of the Venezuelan people who resist a new coup attempt in the country, led by deputies to the National Assembly that maintains the contempt of the Judiciary. For his part, the also constituent Jacobo Torres praised the work of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry in defense of national sovereignty against foreign interference, and highlighted the more than 2 thousand pronouncements of organizations in the world in favor of peace and stability of Venezuela. “The biggest emotion we have is having all the organizations, even some that are not very friendly with Venezuela, have spoken out against any intervention (in the Caribbean country)”, the legislator added.
