Head of State asks the UN for support to arrange a national dialogue
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, requested this Saturday to the United Nations (UN) support to arrange new spaces for dialogue for peace with the Venezuelan opposition, as part of the fulfillment of objective number 16 of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030
“Peace, Justice and solid Institutions, objective sixteen of Sustainable Development. There, the United Nations Organization have to help us. I told the General Secretary of the UN Antonio Guterres, in September, to help us in the dialogue for peace, mutual recognition, harmony, the coexistence of different political visions”, said the National President.
He added that the Bolivarian Government executes a policy of peace, in which it has called for dialogue to the national right in more than 400 opportunities, for the understanding and resolution of conflicts for the benefit of the people.
In this context, he exhorted the opposition to cease the diatribe that aims to escalate towards a situation of confrontation in the country and invited them to discuss the 17 objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
“I would like to sit down and talk about all these objectives with the opposition, in a long day, and talk about the economic, political, and social development of the issues that concern them the most, and distress Venezuelans”.
We must promote a great social, cultural, political dialogue, of respect, of mutual recognition and hopefully the United Nations, with their great experience, will help us out to create conditions for a great national peace dialogue.
