Venezuela and Dominica consolidate bilateral ties on the eve of the ALBA-TCP Summit

The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, held a working meeting on Wednesday with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, with the common intention of strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation maintained by both nations.

The high level meeting took place at the International Airport of Maiquetía “Simón Bolívar”, from where the Antillean leader will continue his journey to the Republic of Cuba on the occasion of the XVI Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for Peoples of Our America – Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP).

Caracas and Roseau maintain close friendly relations and are part, besides the ALBA-TCP, of different regional integration mechanisms such as Petrocaribe and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).

FM Arreaza and the Prime Minister of Dominica met last Monday in the city of Marrakech, Morocco, where more than 160 countries adopted the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
