Foreign Ministry launches website of the National Commission for Refugees

The National Commission for Refugees (Conare), attached to the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, opens its website as an information and assistance space for the refugee or the person who needs to go to this instance. In this sense, this web space is located on the website of the Foreign Ministry of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for public access under the following link: mppre.gob.ve/conare/. Conare, born from the need to adopt and shelter people and their companions who are persecuted for reasons of race, sex, religion, nationality or because of belonging to a certain social group or political opinion. With the arrival to the presidency of the commander Hugo Chávez, and in response to the need for protection of those fleeing their countries, he creates the National Commission for Refugees, achieving to materialize the Organic Law for Refugees and Asylees on October 3, 2001, according to Official Gazette 37.296 and regulated by Decree 2.491 of July 4, 2003, in accordance with Article 69 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. It should be noted that on the digital platform of Conare anyone can find the addresses and telephone numbers of the public attention in Caracas and the border states Apure, Tachira and Zulia. They can also view the refugee application requirements, and at the same time keep informed with all the activities carried out by the National Commission for Refugees.
