Venezuela and Russia conduct combined air maneuvers for defense

The National Government welcomed the Russian Air Force that participates in the combined operational flights between the Russian Federation and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela 2018. For Venezuela, the event was led by the Minister for Defense, General Chief, Vladimir Padrino López, who stressed that both nations have built a true friendship. “Welcome to the Homeland of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and the commander Hugo Chávez (…) Russia-Venezuela relations have been building more than a cooperation, a friendship”, he said. The combined operational flights Russia-Venezuela 2018, represent a demonstration of strength that will aim at the integration of aviation means, both Russian and Venezuelan, in terms of military technical cooperation and the exchange of experiences. From the ramp No. 4 of Simón Bolívar International Airport, in Maiquetía, next to the Superior General Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Padrino López said that “nobody in the world fears for the presence of logistic aircraft that have trodden Venezuelan territory, we are builders of peace, not war”. “We are preparing to defend Venezuela, to the last corner when necessary, we will do it with our friends, who defend respectful relations between States”, the official added. For his part, the Russian ambassador in Venezuela, Vladímir Zaemskiy, said that one of the areas of cooperation between both nations is the military, “it is developing in a very fruitful way in recent times; Long live Venezuela! Long live Russia! Long live the Russian-Venezuelan friendship!”
