President Erdoğan honors the Liberator Simón Bolívar at the National Pantheon
On his first official visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, paid tribute on Monday to the Liberator Simón Bolívar with a wreath before the sarcophagus that keeps the remains of the Father of the Nation in the National Pantheon, in Caracas.
During the ceremony, the Turkish president was accompanied by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, and the Sectoral Vice President of Economy, Tareck El Aissami, among other authorities of both countries.
Caracas and Ankara have given this 2018 a renewed boost to bilateral relations that have expanded under the leadership and common vision of Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, both reelected to the first magistracy of their nations in May and June, respectively .
In this framework, a presidential meeting is planned to evaluate and expand the binational cooperation agenda.
President Erdoğan arrived Sunday evening at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, where was received by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, Vice President Tareck El Aissami, Vice Minister of Foreign Relations for Europe, Yván Gil, and Turkey’s Ambassador to Venezuela , Şevki Mütevellioğlu.
