Vice-minister Pimentel holds working meeting with Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Isse Awad
In the framework of a work tour, the Vice-minister for Africa of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Yuri Pimentel, on Monday held a bilateral meeting with Ahmed Isse Awad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Investment of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
In this meeting, Awad and Pimentel discussed and analyzed the similarities of both nations in the diplomatic, political, social and economic sphere, in order to establish areas of cooperation that help strengthen bilateral relations.
The aforementioned working meeting took place within the framework of the Conference on Sustainable Blue Economy, the first forum held in Nairobi, capital of Kenya, and which will involve the participation of more than 17,000 experts from 184 countries, and will aim to explore the possibilities of ecological use of marine resources.
Vice-minister Pimentel took advantage of the meeting to extend an invitation to the Somali chancellor to visit Venezuela in the coming months, thus strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between the Caribbean and the African nation.
After this meeting, the Venezuelan official had the opportunity to talk with the Minister of Economic Development of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Ad-da Brahim Ahmaim and the Minister of Transport of the Republic of South Africa, Blade Nzimande.
