Vice-minister Pimentel offers interview to NBC channel of Namibia

On his tour of the african continent, the Vice-minister of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Yuri Pimentel, offered an interview to the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) where he gave an account of his work tour and took the opportunity to expose the reality that Venezuela is going through the consequences of unilateral measures imposed by foreign powers.

Vice-minister Pimentel in his speech pointed out that the situation of the Caribbean nation is the result of an interventionist policy promoted by the United States and the European Union in conjunction with venezuelan right-wing actors who bet on the overthrow of the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro and the destabilization of the institutionality in the country. In this sense, Pimentel added that the US government says it wants to help Venezuela but at the same time they promote a media campaign that positions the humanitarian crisis and applies coercive sanctions that prevent the acquisition of food, medicines and transactions, actions that are focused in foreign intervention. The venezuelan official compared the situation that Venezuela is going through with the events that took place in Chile in 1973, when President Salvador Allende was overthrown. The foreign powers applied measures against the Chilean economy to overthrow the democratic and popular government promoted by this socialist leader. During the interview, the Vice-minister highlighted the achievements of the venezuelan people with the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution by the hand of commander Hugo Chávez, who promoted a unifying project based on the inclusion of People’s Power. He added that thanks to the Revolution, poverty, illiteracy were reduced considerably, free access to education was granted, and the right to health was guaranteed. Finally, he recalled the importance that the commander Hugo Chávez gave to the peoples of the african continent.
