Venezuelan María Giménez and Katherine Echandia get gold at Youth Olympic Games

The judoka Maria Gimenez was victorious in the final of the category of -44 kilos against the representative of India, Tababi Thangjam, and won the gold medal for Venezuela in the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018.

The venezuelan girl, who leaddered the combat and went ahead on the scoreboard with a wasari (1-0), then defeated her opponent with a withering Ippon to get the second gold medal in the history of Venezuela in the youth Olympics.

The first golden medal of Venezuela in the Youth Olympic Games was won by the athlete María Simancas in the edition of Nanjín, when she competed in the 8 × 100 mixed relay.
