FM Jorge Arreaza holds meeting with social movements in Switzerland

Social movements residents in Switzerland expressed their solidarity to the Venezuelan people and to the government of President Nicolás Maduro who continues the socialist model of inclusion and social justice promoted by the eternal commander Hugo Chávez. During the meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland, FM Jorge Arreaza, explained to the leaders of the social movements the situation that Venezuela is going through after applying coercive measures that aim to destabilize the economy of the Caribbean nation. During his visit to Geneva, Switzerland, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, who participates in the 39th session of human rights of the United Nations (UN), held a meeting with the leaders of parties and social movements to those who explained the situation that Venezuela is going through after the application of coercive measures that aim to destabilize the economy of the Caribbean nation. In that same order, FM Arreaza explained in detail the destabilizing plans promoted by the Venezuelan and international ultra-right against the government of President Nicolás Maduro, actions that were reflected in the frustrated assassination that took place on August 4 on Avenida Bolívar de Caracas, in commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the Bolivarian National Guard. Estefano Araguyo, member of the Swiss Communist Party, asserted that the imperialist scorn towards sovereign peoples is expressed through the intervention that seeks to destroy the reformer political projects such as the Bolivarian and Socialist Revolution. The representative of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers in Geneva, Nicole Savia, expressed her satisfaction at the presence of FM Jorge Arreaza, who in her opinion, has defended and spread the truth of what is happening in Venezuela. “We are happy for the visit of Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza because he came to defend and spread the truth of what is happening in Venezuela that is not told through the media and less here at the UN Human Rights Council. Venezuela can count on all our solidarity, the work that Venezuela does in the Council is fundamental for the defense of the system”, she said. On the other hand, Hernán Ormeño, social leader, assured that any military aggression that takes place against Venezuela has a subcontinental implication and therefore it would affect the political, social and economic stability of Latin America, for which, he called on the countries of the region that even having a political ideology different from that of Venezuela, unite to face the imperial attack that aims to destroy “the destiny of the peoples”. In relation to the situation of Venezuelan migrants who are victims of xenophobic acts and discriminatory treatment, the member of the Lula Livre Committee of Brazil, Angela de Farias, expressed concern about the situation that occurred recently on the Brazil-Venezuela border where a group of Venezuelans were robbed, and the tents where they stayed, were burned. “We are in solidarity with the situation that Venezuela is going through desipite the fact that in our country there is a de facto government, we are worried about the situation of the rejections that have been perpetrated against Venezuelans”, she said.
