Bolivarian Government and UN coordinate response plan against unilateral coercive measures

The new Vice-minister for Multilateral Issues of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Alexander Yánez, reported Tuesday that the Bolivarian Government in coordination with the United Nations System is developing a humanitarian response plan that will combat the devastating effects of coercive measures unilateral measures imposed by the United States government in important areas of national development. The declaration was made by the Venezuelan authority after holding a meeting with representatives of all the agencies of the United Nations System (UN) for the second consecutive day. “The United Nations System in coordination with the Bolivarian Government established the development of a humanitarian response plan for the year 2019, which will allow development in various areas; among them, health, education, science and technology”. He also stressed that the United Nations System will be responsible for establishing the financing mechanisms for each of the projects framed in this humanitarian response plan. «There are already resources allocated to several projects that are in the execution phase», he said. The meeting was held at the Casa Amarilla Antonio José de Sucre and was attended by the resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Venezuela, Peter Grohmann; the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Rosicler Gómez; the Human Rights Commissioner for Venezuela, Larry Devoe and the representatives of all the UN agencies that make life in the country. This also reaffirmed the commitment of a permanent communication link between the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry and the United Nations System for the expedited management of the work that these agencies have been doing in Venezuela to strengthen the implementation of the Plan de la Patria 2019-2025, and the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
